Uniform Patrol
Overview
The largest division in the department is the Uniform Patrol Division. The division is comprised of sworn officers and operates on a 24-hour basis. Officers assigned to the patrol division are responsible for most of all case closures, including arrests, recovery of property, aid to citizens and protection of the public.
Patrol Squads
The Uniform Patrol Division is divided into four Patrol Squads. The squads are assigned to a shift rotation and work either a day shift or a night shift assignment. When one shift rotation is on duty, the other rotation is off duty and vice versa.
These four patrol squads are responsible for patrolling Plant City and quickly responding to dispatched calls for service, as well as any suspicious or self-initiated activity they may encounter.
Within the patrol division, there are several specialty units.
