Office of City Attorney

Responsibilities
The City Attorney acts as legal adviser, attorney, and counselor for the city and all its officers in matters relating to their official duties. The City Attorney:

  • Prepares contracts, bonds, and other legal instruments
  • Prosecutes and defends the city in legal proceedings
  • Provides the City Commission, the City Manager, department heads, and city boards and officers his opinion on any question of law relating to their respective powers and duties
