Overview - National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)

The NPDES stormwater permitting program was developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) to protect our waterways from pollution.

The City of Plant City holds a permit for the public storm drainage system shared with Hillsborough County and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

Pollution can be anything that doesn’t belong in our waterways, like trash, sediment, chemicals, fertilizer, grass clippings, and more.  If you see pollution in ditches, drains, or waterways, please report it at:
