NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
AND
PROPOSED LIST OF CIT PROJECTS
The City Commission of the City of Plant City, Florida will hold a public hearing on the list of specific projects proposed to be funded from the proceeds of the half cent Local Government Infrastructure Surtax, also known as the Community Investment Tax, for the period of the tax commencing December 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2041. The public hearing shall be held on June 24, 2024 at 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the City Commission Chambers of the Nettie Berry Draughon Municipal Building (City Hall) at 302 West Reynolds Street, Plant City, Florida 33563. At the conclusion of the public hearing, the City Commission shall adopt a resolution listing specific projects which are proposed to be funded from the proceeds of the half cent Local Government Infrastructure Surtax for the period of the tax commencing December 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2041.
Any person with a disability requiring reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this meeting should call the City Clerk at (813) 659-4200 at least 48 hours prior to the public hearing.
All persons are advised that if a person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
At the public hearing, all speakers shall be limited to three (3) minutes. In the event speaker(s) request additional time, the determination of the amount of time shall be at the discretion of the Mayor.
The list of specific projects which are proposed to be funded from the proceeds of the half cent Local Government Infrastructure Surtax for the period of the tax commencing December 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2041 may be inspected by the public at the offices of the City Clerk at the Nettie Berry Draughon Municipal Building, 302 West Reynolds Street, Plant City, Florida or obtained by the City Clerk at 659-4200 ext. 4237.
