- A slow – fast drippy faucet could use 300 - 600 gal/month.
- A small – large stream drippy faucet could use 2000 - 4000 gal/month.
- A toilet seal leak could use 2000 gal/month.

- A toilet that runs until jiggled could use 20,000 gal/month.

City of Plant City – Leak Adjustment Policy in part.
If a leak is found on your property, you may be eligible for an adjustment if you meet the required criteria:
- Use 5,000 gallons of water over the monthly average consumption.
- Notify the City of Plant City - Utility Billing Department.
- Provide proof of repair or purchase (plumber’s invoice or part receipt).
- Fill out an Adjustment Request Form.
- Adjustments are only given for two consecutive billing periods.
Types of leak adjustment credits: toilet, sink, shower, busted pipe, broken faucet, outside leak and wall leak. Possible credit could include water and or sewer.
We also give credit for new pool fill, pool facelift and pool repairs if it requires more than 5,000 gallons. Customer Service must be contacted 72 hours in advance before the pool is filled, so that the meter can be read. Possible credit would be sewer only.
