Donate
Thank you for considering Bruton Memorial Library for your donations. Monetary donations are accepted through the Plant City Library Foundation. The Library also welcomes donations of books and media materials in good condition that extend and complement our collection. Items not added to the Library collection may be offered for sale by our Friends of the Library. All proceeds from book sales are used to sponsor library programs and activities. All donations become property of Bruton Memorial Library.
Based on our collection development policy, we gladly accept the following donations in good condition:
- Books – Hardcover or Paperback – Fiction, Non-fiction, and Classic Literature
- Media – DVDs and Books on CD (Audiobooks)
We are unable to accept the following items:
- Outdated non-fiction
- Encyclopedias
- Reader’s Digest condensed books
- Textbooks
- Periodicals (Magazines)
- Former library withdrawals
- Computer software
- Music CDs
- Cassette or VHS tapes
- Homemade copies of CDs and DVDs
Items in poor physical condition that are damaged, mildewed, foul-smelling, or bug-infested are not accepted.
The library reserves the right to refuse donated items due to space limitations, condition of the materials, or request for tracking of donations.
Monthly donations are currently limited to 1 box or bag containing up to 100 items per month.
A receipt may be obtained for the quantity of books upon request at the time of donation. The Library will not attach a value to a donation for tax-deduction purposes.
