Solid Waste

All Solid Waste customers should place their storm vegetative debris beside the road for pick up.  All vegetative debris should be placed curbside before Monday morning, 9/30/2024.  The goal is to have all vegetative debris collected by Thursday 10/3/2024.  We are working with our debris contractor to assist with this effort.  Other bulk materials such as fences or other types of debris should be separated from the vegetative debris and a work order submitted for the non-vegetative bulk pick-up.  Bulk items will be picked up following complete removal of the storm vegetative debris.

All solid waste services will be suspended on Thursday, 9/26.   Residential and commercial trash and recycling will be picked up on Friday from accounts normally scheduled on Thursday, and trash and recycling normally collected on Friday will be collected on Saturday.  Accounts scheduled for Saturday will be picked up on Saturday.

Power Outage Tips – Tampa Electric

Rain and high winds can bring down power lines in our community and/or cause power outages.  Please follow these safety tips from Tampa Electric:

  • If you will be using a generator, NEVER connect it to your home's circuits.  Connecting your generator to the circuits may cause power to flow to outside lines, posing life-threatening danger to restoration crews.
  • Stay away from downed power lines.
  • Use portable generators safely.
  • Plug your appliances directly into the generator.
  • Stay out of floodwaters because they can hide energized power lines.
  • Don't take portable generators into homes or any enclosed space (like a garage) where deadly carbon monoxide gases could build up.

During a power outage, please limit your water usage as it can cause water pressure to drop resulting in potential contamination.
