Neighborhood Improvements

Neighborhood improvements are undertaken to respond to identified community needs and issues in targeted neighborhood improvement areas in Census Tracts 126, 127, and 129.  Typical projects include drainage improvements, sidewalk construction, street resurfacing and improvements, water and sewer replacement and expansion, and park and recreation redevelopment and enhancement. Funding for the proposed projects shall be based upon available funding under the Community Development Block Grant Program and the Community Redevelopment Agency and shall be denoted in Plant City’s annual budget.

Approved projects support the local objective to provide public infrastructure improvements to stimulate revitalization of the overall community. They are designed to provide safe linkages for pedestrians, improve facilities for safe and efficient traffic circulation, promote the rehabilitation of the existing housing stock and development of new affordable housing units, abate local flooding problems, reduce the amount of litter and debris, create a sense of community among the area residents, and increase the overall appearance of the neighborhoods.
