Citizens may dispose of four tires annually at no charge by placing them at curbside and calling 813-757-9208 for a special pickup. There is no charge for up to 4 tires per calendar year. Additional tires can be picked up at the curb for a fee of $8 each.
Used cooking or motor oil should not be thrown away with your garbage. If poured on the ground or into the storm drain, the oil poisons our soil and pollutes our waterways. The Solid Waste Department will pick up items such as: washers, dryers, small a/c units (window type), refrigerators, freezers etc. All items that utilize freon must be purged prior to pick up. No items containing flammable or explosive liquids / gases will be picked up.
The Solid Waste Department is not permitted to pick up hazardous waste. These materials pose a threat not only to people, but also to the environment. Hazardous wastes are classified as poisons, corrosives, reactive, explosive and toxic materials.
