Michael Herr was appointed to serve as City Manager effective on September 29, 2014.
Mike comes to Plant City with 35 years of local government and administrative experience including most recently serving as the City of Tampa’s Public Works and Utility Services Administrator.
Some of his other local government experience also includes having served as the Polk County Manager and previously as their Transportation Director; Deputy County Administrator of Hernando County; Town Manager of Dundee, Florida and Newburgh, Indiana; and Director of Public Works for the City of Lakeland and Hernando County.
His private sector experience includes having been the President of Econ, a multi-disciplined surveying, civil engineering and planning services firm in Lakeland.
Mike earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University. He also received the Florida City and County Management Association Award for Career Excellence in 2009.
